About us

Bicolana’s Kitchen is built on strong coffee, generous food, and genuine hospitality. Located in St Marys, Adelaide, we serve a community of hardworking men and women, including crews helping deliver some of South Australia’s major infrastructure projects. From the early-morning coffee rush to lunchtime favourites and takeaway dinners, our café is designed to offer food and drink that are satisfying, welcoming, and full of flavour.

Our menu brings together fresh café classics and homestyle Filipino cooking. Alongside barista-made coffee, pastries, cabinet food, chilled drinks, and catering, we’re proud to serve hearty meals that feel comforting and familiar. Even as a new café, dishes like adobo and Bicol Express have already become customer favourites, regularly selling out as more people discover the flavours of Bicolana’s Kitchen.

Our journey

Hi, I’m Raquel, the founder of Bicolana’s Kitchen. I was born and raised in Pioduran, Albay, in the Philippines, and my love of food began at my grandmother’s carinderia, Conching Eatery, where I spent my younger years helping in the kitchen, chopping garlic and shallots and watching much-loved meals come together. That experience shaped me early. It taught me that food is never just food. It is care, culture, memory, and community shared around the table.

Over time, that early love of cooking stayed with me through travel, work, and life in Australia. I collected recipes from my grandmother, my mother, recipe books, cooking shows, and anyone willing to share their knowledge. I’ve always been curious about flavour and texture, and when I couldn’t find the recipe I was after, I would keep thinking about it until I could recreate it myself. Later, studying culinary arts helped me deepen that passion and refine the recipes and techniques I had carried with me for years.

Bicolana’s Kitchen is a reflection of that journey. It brings together my love of cooking, baking, photography, travel, and storytelling through food. Many people also know me through my YouTube channel and recipe writing, where I share approachable dishes and the joy of home cooking. I believe great food should feel exciting, comforting, and accessible, whether it’s a simple coffee, a fresh lunch, or a meal that reminds someone of home.

Community is at the centre of everything I do. In my home region of Bicol, I have been known for charity work that helps feed children during Christmas and Easter, and supports families displaced by typhoons. That same spirit lives in this café. Bicolana’s Kitchen is about feeding people well, welcoming them warmly, and creating a place that feels generous and grounded.

Today, Bicolana’s Kitchen proudly serves Adelaide from 1197 South Rd, St Marys SA 5042. In a fast-moving industrial area where people need quality, speed, and consistency, we are proud to offer strong coffee, fresh cabinet food, Filipino takeaway favourites, catering, and online ordering. Coffee has already become such a big part of our daily rhythm that we are growing our barista team, while our homestyle dishes continue to win over new customers every week.

Whether you’re starting early, grabbing lunch on the run, ordering for the crew, or taking home a comforting meal, we’d love to welcome you to Bicolana’s Kitchen.
