Sautéed Shrimp Paste or Bagoong are fermented small shrimps (called alamang) that were sautéed with garlic, onion, tomato, and pork. In this recipe. I don’t put tomato and pork if you want to add pork and tomato. You can add on it if you like. Bagoong Alamang can be considered either as a dish or as a condiment. Few Filipino dishes that depend on shrimp paste for flavour. Kare-kare and Pork Binagoongan (binagoongan baboy) are just a few of them.As a stand-alone dish, Bagoong Ginisa can be simply eaten with fresh fruits, steam vegetable or steam rice can add to fried rice too.

Sautéed Shrimp Paste or Bagoong are fermented small shrimps (called alamang) that were sautéed with garlic, onion, tomato, and pork.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 3 cups bagoong alamang shrimp paste
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tsp pepper ground
  • 1 tsp seasoning optional
  • 1 inch ginger minced | optional
  • 10 pcs chilli slice

Instructions
 

  • 1. pour bagoong paste in a small pan and add vinegar, simmer in about 3 mInstructions:1. pour bagoong paste in a small pan and add vinegar, simmer in about 3 minutes. Set aside
    2. Heat a pan and add the cooking oil, garlic, onion and the ginger (note u can add the tomato and pork) then sauté for 5 minutes.3. then put the sautéed mixture to the shrimp paste, cook for another
    3 minutes then add the remaining cooking oil.4. add sugar, ground pepper and seasoning then stir. then cook in low heat for 7 to 10 minutes. Stir once in a while. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve. Share and enjoy!
